"Finally a gluten free flour that is easy and well, wonderful - I have been gluten free for 7 years, two weeks before Thanksgiving (no dressing), 4 weeks before my daughters wedding (no wedding cake) and 6 weeks before Christmas (no goodies that had been a tradition for my family). The first year I bought a gluten free cookie mix and ended up throwing it away and crying out of self-pity. The cookies were so chalky we could not eat them. I have bought cookbooks, read blogs and tired all kinds of products. Then I found gfJules website. I did not try it for awhile because of the price. "thought it was too good to be true... BUT IT ISN'T!! - I went ahead and ordered a bigger bag of flour so I could try to make a pie. I've made one pie with GF flour before, and it was so disappointing. It was like I had used sand in the crust. I love pie. Especially rhubarb pie. Then, there's apple crumble, lemon meringue, fresh strawberry, cherry, pumpkin... oh my. And also pasties. I see that you don't have a recipe for them on your website, which is a serious deficiency. I'm putting the recipe into this comment, hope that works. But, I digress. So I got the flour, and made a pie with fresh blueberries. This pie is so good! My husband says he can't tell the difference between this and "normal" pie. I had two pieces. I never knew pie crust could make me so happy. Now that I know I can make good pie crust, it's like my world is back where it belongs. Pasties are meat pies. In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan they are on every restaurant menu, and every old lady has her own recipe for how to make them, and their way is the best way, every recipe is a tiny bit different. They came over with the Cornish hard rock miners who worked in the copper mines in the U.P. Here is my mother's recipe that was used for church fund raisers in the town they lived after they retired there. The lady who gave my mother the recipe insists that you cut your potatoes and rutabaga precisely as directed... they should be about that size, is all. It's not rocket science, it's just delicious food! Pastry for 12 pasties: 8 cups flour 4 teaspoons salt 2 2/3 cup shortening (we use lard) 1 1/2 cups water Mix as for pie crust. Divide into 12 balls and chill. Roll each ball out onto a sheet of wax paper, it should be about 10 inches in diameter. I like to roll it out and then use a lid from a tin of cookies that is exactly 10 inches to cut a nice smooth circle. Stack the layers of wax paper up, each one with it's crust circle. Then mix your filling. Filling for 12 pasties: 8 cups potatoes - cut in 3/8 inch dice 4 cups rutabaga - cut in 1/4 inch dice 2 cups finely chopped onion 3 pounds coarsely ground meat (we use lean ground chuck or ground round) 2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper Mix filling ingredients (hand work best) and put one cup in center of a circle of crust. Moisten the outer edge of half of the crust circle, then fold the dry half over, covering the filling. Press the edges gently then starting at one corner, fold the edge up toward the filling, push down, then go along at about 1 inch intervals bringing the edge up and pressing down so that the edge looks like it's twisted. At the end, tuck the last bit under and place the pasty on a parchment lined baking pan. Make small slits in the top of each pasty, and bake at 350 for one hour. Leave the windows open and every man in the neighborhood will be at your door waiting for a pasty! They freeze well wrapped tightly in foil. Warm in oven at 350 for half hour to serve."

"Overpriced - I tried the Cuban bread recipe and it was very heavy, not at all like the miracle described. I left a comment saying it didn't work and asked about the vinegar killing the yeast before it rises and my comment was deleted. I guess you don't want people to comment anything but how awesome it is, well sorry, it's not. I bought a 3 lb bag of King Arthur Measure for measure gluten free flour for about $10 and gf Jules is not one bit better. Plus I don't have to pay shipping or wait for the mail, I just grab it off the shelf. I guess you'll probably delete this too, and that's fine. But you'll never get repeat customers when the find King Arthur at Walmart."
